Condolence From: Lois Thiessen
Condolence: Sue, Bevan, Laresa, Arbi and, especially, Alina.
I don't have the words to share. Who will tease Mom/Grandma with Spoonerisms, or be the strong tenor when our family has the privilege to sing in church, or discuss 'energetically' arcane points of whatever the topic at hand might be?
Ron, you've been part of our family all my life. You will continue in my memories through the music you've left, your historical articles and, most importantly, your family - Sue and your marvelous children, Bevan and Laresa, and of course Arbi and the adorable Alina.

Condolence From: Walter Sawatzky
Condolence: Sue, may today's comfort of being with the many guests, friends and family members go with you for the coming days when the grief will threaten to overwhelm your peace and when the empty stillness becomes too much of a void to bear... then, may the Spirit's love also become your refuge and source of strength!
Love and prayers, Walter and Joy

Condolence From: Carmen Wiebe
Condolence: Dear Sue, Bevan and Laresa,
I was so shocked and sad to hear this news! I am thinking of you today as you celebrate a wonderful man's life, and I pray that you feel upheld by the massive community of people whose lives were touched by him.
You all meant so much to me when I first came to Toronto. It's been a while now, but I still, and will always, feel like all four of you are an essential part of the TUMC and Pax Christi communities.
In love and sympathy,
Carmen

Condolence: Dear Sue, Bevan, Laresa and her family,
Our sympathy upon the loss of your dear Ron.
Not so long ago, Sue, you were kind enough to send condolences to pass along to my sister Lucy who lost her husband Neil Friesen and here it is you who are receiving condolences. It is a sad and sudden time.
Of course we still see you with your young family here in Toronto with everyone amazed that Bevan could speak Low German so well. Those were in the days when the St. Clair O'Connor Centre put on plays, don't you recall?
Ron was such an important member of TUMC, participating in the larger community and studying – with Sue typing his dissertation and then the hurrah when the PhD was achieved. Harvey read Ron's dissertation with great pleasure and thought he was eminently qualified in every way for the academic world.
Many kind thoughts to you all.
Anne and Harvey

Condolence From: Bob and Carolyn Loewen
Condolence: Dear Sue, Bevan and Laresa,
Carolyn and I send our deepest condolences to you on Ron's passing away. We feel fortunate to have spent many good times together in church related activities, music, and wonderful times of friendship.
It seems at a time that was important to me (Bob), Ron had the confidence in me to ask that I chair the music committee for the Bicentennial Festival. It was wonderful to work with Ron on this great event.
Ron was instrumental in giving courage to go ahead with the dream of a Toronto area Mennonite choir. Pax Christi Chorale was born from this this collaboration of friends. Emily, Ron and I had a great time dreaming.
Male quartet singing was always a great joy.
I feel a tremendous loss.
We grieve with you, and pray for strength in the times ahead.
May Ron's memory be a blessing to each of you.
Love - Bob and Carolyn Loewen

I will always remember the lovely parties you had for the young adults at that really nice home in Scarborough. Your hospitality helped me with my transition to TUMC. You will be in my thoughts.
