Golden Nuggets

 All of us kiddos loved looking for fools gold (pyrite) in the rocks in the driveway. We thought it was real gold! It started me on my path to geology. Joe was very young, probably four years old, and he would be having so much fun playing with us that he would throw a fit when it was time to go home and take a bath to get ready for bed. Someone, probably my sister Lynn who was always the crazy idea sibling, had an idea to spray paint some rocks gold and leave a trail for Joe to find the gold nuggets up to his house from ours and into the bathtub. It worked like a charm! Joe was the sweetest, cutest little kid. I have fond memories of our families playing and laughing together.
