Obituary for Wilmer K. "Ken" Wiley

Print
Wilmer Kenneth Wiley lost his battle against cancer on Monday, April 1, 2019, at home surrounded by his family. He was 72 years old and the husband of Karen Walis Wiley.

Born in Hatfield, he was the son of Dorothy (O’Brien) and the late William Wiley.

Wilmer graduated from Hatboro-Horsham High School and volunteered for the United States Marine Corps. He was sent to Viet Nam and while over there he and 26 others were sent into action and only two returned. He felt blessed that he was able to have a family, friends and a career while the others did not. He then pursued a career in sales and engineering.

Wilmer enjoyed playing sports like bowling, tennis, hunting, darts, and shooting pool, and then he found golf, where (believe it or not) he had eight holes-in-one. He played every season and if there was snow on the ground, he either went east to the coast or down south. He served as an officer of a golf association where he had many close friends.

Wilmer was actively involved with his church, St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church working at their annual Flea Market and even helping to bake cookies for their December Cookie Walk/Nut Roll Sale.

Wilmer is survived by his mother, Dorothy (O’Brien) Wiley, his loving children, Russell (Danielle) Wiley and Kim (Wiley) Egner, his grandchildren Charlie, Jimmy, Tommy and Evan, his sisters Sandy Streater (Ron), Linda Bouks (Ollie) and his brothers William Wiley (Harriet), Kenneth Wiley (Linda), and Brian Wiley (Karen), and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington, from 8:30am to 10:30am. Requiem of Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1545 Easton Road, Warrington, PA 18976, at 11:00am, immediately followed by interment in St. John Neumann Cemetery.
