William Walter Schott, of Telford, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020 at the Lutheran Community at Telford. He was 86.
He was the beloved husband of the late Marilyn E. Schott, who passed away in 2008.
Born in Philadelphia, William was the son of the late Walter and Frances Schott.
William proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956. He, then, went into the reserves from 1956 to 1960.
William continued his education achieving a degree from the Pennsylvania State University in Machine and Tool Design.
William had a successful career as a design engineer at Selas heat technology company, Bickley Furnaces, Inc., and went on to design some of the world’s largest commercial vacuum furnaces at Vacuum Furnace Systems in Souderton, PA.
In his free time, William enjoyed golfing in his younger years and playing the guitar. He would often play the guitar and sing for the fellow residents at the Lutheran home in Telford. He also enjoyed going to church and spending time with his family.
William will be dearly missed by his three children, William W. Schott, Jr., Frederick Schott (Dina), Linda Weber (Mark); 6 grandchildren, Nicole, Kacie, Madison, Haley, Melissa, Elizabeth; 4 great grandchildren; and his sister, Norma.
In addition to his wife and parents, William was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Tracey Schott, and a sister, Roberta.
William’s services will be private at the convenience of the family at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler.
