Obituary for William P. Reimel

William Reimel of Doylestown, PA, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2023, in the comfort of his home. He was 6 days shy of his 86th birthday.

“Will/Bill” was born on May 6, 1937, in his parents’ home in Willow Grove, PA, to German immigrant parents Rosina (Posch) and Alois Reimel. As a boy he loved sports, his family and exploring the then farmlands of the area. He attended Northeast Catholic High School for Boys during which time he met the love of his life, Mary (Sickinger) Reimel, who attended Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls. Upon graduating from high school, Will enlisted in the Army National Guard.

After serving in the National Guard, he returned home and started working for the Budd Company as a machinist in Philadelphia. During this time his love grew for two major pillars in his life: Mary and machining. Will and Mary were married in 1960, and they welcomed their first child the next year.

Will was drawn to machining, had strong & talented hands, and worked as many hours as he could at the Budd Company. After a few years, he ventured out on his own to develop his own machining business. He and Mary started Reimel Machine in his parents’ garage in 1962 and officially incorporated in 1969.
Will and Mary had four children, their 4 J’s: Jennifer, Jeffrey, Jessica, and Jonathan. Will and Mary worked tirelessly to nurture their business and family. In their early years of marriage, they enjoyed summer trips to the New Jersey shore, their children’s academic and athletic endeavors, fun with friends & family and always striving to be the best business owners possible. Our Lady of Mount Carmel was their parish since 1965 and a big part of their spiritual life. All his children had a taste of machining at Reimel Machine with Jeffrey ultimately becoming President/CEO, Jonathan Vice-President and Jessica Asst Manager of the office. Bill cared deeply about Reimel Machine’s employees, customers and reputation for quality, dependability, and fairness. Travel to Japan, Europe, Bermuda and many parts of the USA were always an adventure, especially ski trips with the family, and golfing with “his boys”. With his daughter Jennifer’s move to Switzerland came travel abroad and visits with family in Germany.

Will was a natural athlete and an avid sports fan, especially of the Phillies and Eagles. Later in life he enjoyed golfing and dining at Doylestown Country Club with his sons, wife and friends. He became a grandfather in 1992. “Pop-Pop,” as his grandchildren affectionately call him, ultimately shared his love for ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Many pool & ping-pong games were played in the basement, holidays celebrated at home and cheering at school events. Pop-Pop always had time to make each child feel loved and special.
Will shared 57 years of marriage with his beloved Mary until her death in 2017. He missed her dearly and spoke often of her. He was kind to the core and generous, fun, and loving. He made the world a better place and will be in our hearts forever.

Will is survived by his children Jennifer Kronenberg (Pierre-Michel) of Doylestown, Jeffrey Reimel (Holly Witty) of Doylestown, Jessica Nichols (Chris) of Dublin, and Jonathan Reimel (Stacee Willis) of Doylestown; grandchildren Melanie Adams (Archie), Eric Kronenberg, Katie & Grayce Reimel, Danielle Pennock (Ric), Ryan & Justin Nichols and Jake, Cody & Griffen Reimel. He is also survived by his great-grandson Callum Pennock. Bill was the brother of Rosemarie Watson and predeceased siblings Elia Lambert and Al Reimel. He was brother-in-law of Kathy Jennings, predeceased Barbara Bocchino and uncle to many nieces & nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 4th at Shelly Funeral Home, Warrington. and on Friday May 5th at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic church, Doylestown, from 12:30-1:15.
