Obituary for William Jeffery Bechtel
William Jeffrey Bechtel, of Hatboro, PA passed away on Monday January 13, 2020 in his home. Jeff was 58 years old.
Born in Seattle, Washington, Jeff was the son of the late John B. Bechtel, Jr., Sallie M. (Nee Pennebaker) Chesnut and James Robert Chesnut. Jeff is survived by his children Liam and Aaron Bechtel. He was the brother of Susanna Bechtel Boehs, Deborah M. Bechtel,, and John B. Bechtel, lll, (Barbara H.) He was the former husband of Barbara Bechtel (Alle). Jeff is also survived by his Uncle, Dr. William B. Pennebaker, and a number of his wonderful cousins. Jeff graduated from Council Rock High School North in 1979. Later he received his Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from Rutgers University. Jeff had been employed by the Franklin Institute since 1998. Fine Arts, music, science, computers and electronics were among Jeff's lifelong passions. He was blessed with amazing ability and the drive to excel in all of these areas. Jeff shared his talents and compassion for people throughout his life. through his years Jeff helped secure multiple patents, and won awards for his electrical designs. Jeff will be fondly remembered for his unique sense of humor and for the innate intelligent kindness that he shared. Jeff often expressed to us the love that he had for his children. Jeff was a good man, a unique, brilliant star. He will be missed here on Earth, but we know he is in Heaven.
Jeff's Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at the Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church, 1401 Meetinghouse Rd., Warminster, PA, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Internment will follow in the Neshaminy Cemetary.
