Obituary for Thomas W. Taber Sr.

Thomas Wellington Taber, Sr., 88, of Jamison, PA., passed peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday September 21, 2019. Tom was the husband of the late Amy (Barnes) Taber. Together they had shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in Syracuse, NY., Tom was the son of the late Burritt W. and Mary M. (Grady) Taber. Tom was a graduate of The Manlius School in DeWitt, NY. He later received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and graduated with Dean’s List honors from his beloved Alma Mater, Notre Dame University. Shortly after graduation, Tom proudly served in the U.S. Army as a signal school instructor at Camp Gordon, GA. All who loved him will remember his extreme smarts, incredible photographic memory, and strong will. He enjoyed watching the Eagles, Phillies, and never met a crossword puzzle he couldn’t solve.

Tom is survived by his sister, Marcia Morris of Rochester, NY., and his five children: Mary Lou Kennedy and husband Steve of Charleston, SC., Thomas W. Taber Jr. and wife Robin of Jamison, PA., Betsy Burroughs and husband Glenn of Woodinville, WA., John Taber and wife Janine of Sarasota, FL., Joseph Taber and wife Jennifer of Perkasie, PA.; nine grandchildren: Daniel Kennedy and wife Jaime, Madaline Kennedy, Timothy Taber and wife Amanda, Marlo Taber, Amy and Hannah Burroughs, Brianne and Paige Taber, Thomas Anthony Taber; and three great-grandchild: Kathryn Kennedy, June Taber, and William Taber.
