Obituary for Thomas A. "Tommy" Lewis

Thomas A. “Tommy” Lewis, age 52, of Yardley, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 3, 2022.

Tommy was born on April 29, 1970 to his parents Kathleen and Robert Lewis, of Northeast Philadelphia. The family moved to Buckingham, PA in 1974 where they established a lifetime of cherished memories with neighbors, friends, and family. Tom had fond memories of playing street hockey, pond hockey, riding bikes, and building forts with his siblings and friends.

A graduate of Central Bucks East High School, Tommy played defensive back and punter for the Patriots football team with his long-time brotherhood of friends. After graduation, he began his 33-year career with Hendrixson’s Furniture. He was dedicated and diligent in every aspect of his work, which was greatly appreciated by all.

Tommy met his wife, Alexis, and daughter, Abigail, in 2011. They established their beautiful home in Yardley, PA and married on June 22, 2018. Meeting and marrying Alexis was the highlight of his life and a very special pleasure for the Lewis family. Tommy brought an abundance of light, love, and laughter to the lives of “his girls”. His loving, loyal, and protective presence was a Godsend.

Tommy’s other love was sports, especially golf. He was an avid player and enjoyed a lifetime of charitable outings, tournaments, vacations, celebrations, as well as Sundays and Mondays with his father, brother, and best friends. He was dedicated to perfecting his swing, practicing every day in his homemade range. In addition to his love of “the golf”, Tommy was an all-around talented athlete. As a young man, he played soccer, baseball, and basketball, and later, softball.

Tommy is survived by his parents, Kathleen and Robert Lewis; his sisters, Christine Muller (Frank), Aimee Lewis, Jacqueline Herter (Jason); and his brother and best friend, Matthew Lewis. His nieces and nephews, Max Claycomb, Alexa Benhardt, Katie Muller, and Ayden, Benjamin, and Emily Herter will miss their Uncle Tommy at family gatherings and celebrations. Tommy was also blessed to be surrounded by his loving extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tom loved his family and his ability to make everyone laugh and smile. His sharp, unsurpassed wit and sense of humor made every occasion memorable.

Above all else, he had the gift to make everyone he met feel like they were his good friend.

Tommy’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 5194 Cold Spring Creamery Rd., Doylestown, PA 18902. His family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
