Thelma Jeane Stambaugh Young Cook died Thursday, July 10, 2014 at her home in the Pine Run Community where she was a resident since November 2012. She was 86. Jeane was born August 31, 1927 in Charleston, WV to Fred Minton Stambaugh and Thelma Edith Snead Stambaugh. She lived in West Virginia till the age of 24 when she became a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. In 1954, she married Frank Young, a pilot with Delta and moved to Miami, FL where she lived for 57 years. After the untimely death of her first husband, Jeane married Jack Cook in 1972. Jack was the manager and tennis pro at the local tennis club, Salvadore Park. They were very involved in the tennis community during their years in Miami. Besides being an excellent tennis player, Jeane loved to dance and sing, and she was an accomplished painter. She was fun and loved to laugh. She will be missed by her husband - Jack Cook, 91, resident of Pine Run; daughter - Jeffrey Jeane Young, 57, Pittsburgh; son - Michael Scott Young, 55, Perkasie; two stepchildren - Bob Cook, 66, North Carolina and Barbara Cook, 65, Florida; grandchildren - Danielle Hixon and Michael Young; and great grandchildren - Robert, Eric, Mayar, and Dawsen. There will be a memorial in the chapel at Pine Run on Friday, July 11 at 10:00am and then she will be laid to rest on Saturday in Mount Hope Cemetery Penn Hills Twp..
