Obituary

Sydney Ann Waskey born in Doylestown, passed away on Sunday May 31, 2020 at her home. She was 18. Sydney was a daughter of Robert Waskey and Kelly Winters.
Sydney was a 2019 graduate of Central Bucks West and the Middle Bucks Institute Technology School.
Sydney enjoyed experimenting with cooking and having her younger siblings be her taste testers. Her love for animals, especially her dog, Scoresby, is something that will always be a part of her. She was the ultimate playmate for her younger cousins and her soft smile had an amazing ability to light up the room. She was quick witted and could have any room laughing in seconds. Sydney was a natural swimmer, whether she be in the pool or open water this was when she was her happiest. Those who are closest to her, know that her spirit is with the ocean and in the salty air. The countless hours on the beach in a hunt for the perfect piece of sea glass will always remind them of the strong determination that encompassed Sydney. Her love for music is what will keep her family dancing as they remember the amazing years they were able to cherish alongside her.
In addition to her parents, Sydney is survived by a sister Katherine and a brother Nicholas, paternal grandparents, William and Cynthia Waskey and maternal grandmother Charlene Winters. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Sydney was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Robert Winters.
The family will receive friends 12 noon until 4:00 pm Thursday, June 4, 2020 at the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington. Please follow social distancing guidelines and masks will be required in the funeral home. Please understand that only small groups will be permitted to enter the building at one time. Visitors will be asked to exit the property as soon as able to allow for others to arrive. Sydney’s funeral mass will be held privately at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Friday. Interment will be held privately at Doylestown Cemetery.

babygirl, I'm sitting here writing this as I know you are looking down on me in Heaven. You are my best friend. It took me this many months to be able to sit down and write this at 1 AM. but to my dearest girl. When I met you I was so numb. I couldn't feel feelings. until the moment you hugged me and comforted me while I cried while we were in the one place we don't like talking about, together. I felt all the feelings. they came back. We laughed, we cried. I got to live with you for a whole 3 weeks or a month! and you were right there when I got out. Saying that goodbye, or "see you later" was the hardest. but what hurts... what hurts is that we planned on me coming there on May 28-29. and you said you couldn't. and I should've have come anyway. I dont know whether I should blame myself everyday and be mad, or live everyday for you and remember you. we both suffered and we both lost so much. you told me you weren't going anywhere. but I forgive you and I love you. you were my reason to wake up everyday. even if we didn't talk 24/7, I was still here. I woke up everyday knowing I was your reason and you were mine. and even tho you aren't physically here anymore, doesn't mean ur not in my heart. I will continue to live everyday for you. you saved my life and I love you for that and thank you. You are my universe and more and I will never ever forget you. thank you for being here. I miss you darling girl. I will be here. until I can be there with you.

Syd and I were never the closest friends but we certainly had some good times. We horsed around so much in woodshop in 9th grade and got on Mr. Carmen's nerves so much but he would throw it right back at us and Syd would then throw that right back at him. I wish we stayed in touch more throughout high school but I will always remember and cherish the times we shared together as pals. I'll miss ya Syd, you were a good one. Condolences, James Lande

Charlene, Kelly, Rob, and all of the Family: I am heartbroken for all of you! I am so sorry. I can’t imagine the pain and sadness you are all feeling. You all have gone through so much. I am sorry I missed the visitation. I just found out today. Sydney was a joy to all of you, and she was such a light to Charlene! Loved hearing stories about her Sydney! My prayers include all of you, and asking Bob/Boppy to take her in. Those two must be having a blast! We love you!
