Obituary for Sharon M. Hallowell

Sharon M. Hallowell passed away at her home in Ottsville, PA., on Tuesday October 27, 2020. Sharon was 63 years old. She was the loving wife of Penrose Hallowell, Jr.
Sharon was born at the Fort Gordon {Augusta Georgia} army hospital to Joan L. and SFC Robert E. Murray. She grew up at her father’s postings at Fort Lewis Washington state, US zone Panama, and Bayonne N.J., before settling in Brownstown Pa.
She was a hall of fame athlete at Conestoga Valley HS, played basketball and field hockey at Lock Haven University 1974-1978, AAU basketball for the Allentown Pa. ”Crestets”, and recreational volleyball.
Her hobbies were many including cabinetry, decoy carving, fishing, and photography {Ducks Unlimited used her picture of a redheaded duck on their calendar}. She traveled to Venezuela, Costa Rica, England, Scotland, Alaska, New Mexico, the Florida Keys, Canada, and many other wild places. She loved all her golden retrievers she trained and raised over 40 years.
She was a veterinary technician for 37 years where she was loved by all the people and animals she helped.
She is predeceased by her father Bob, and grandmother Helen Lincoln. She is survived by her husband of 28 years Penrose Hallowell Jr., stepsons Benjamin C. Hallowell, Jesse C. Hallowell, his wife Sunny and children Pen and Jane. Her mother Joan L. Murray, brother Robert R. Murray, his wife Barbara, her niece Laura M Price and husband Ryan, and their children Penelope and Lewis. Nephew Jared Murray. Her loving aunt Rolene Lewis and family.
Sharon especially loved family, and all her many many friends who loved her right back.
She was her husband Pen’s life-love and Pen hers.
