Obituary for Sharon E. Abbott
Sharon E. Abbott, of Upper Merion Twp., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 13, 2023 at her residence. She was 66.
Born in Doylestown, she was the daughter of the late Ralph G. and Marion M. Abbott.
Sharon attended Temple University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Tyler School of Art.
A talented musician and guitarist, Sharon played many instruments. She was also an accomplished songwriter. She enjoyed attending and performing at folk festivals and music gatherings throughout the southeast Pennsylvania region.
In her free time, Sharon enjoyed canoeing, drawing, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her cat. She was also an avid reader.
Sharon will be deeply missed by her brothers, Ralph L. Abbott (Lynne Dorfman), Leigh M. Abbott (Gwen A.); her 2 nieces, Melissa Keen and Sarah Abbott; her cousin Cheryl L. Marlin; her 4 great nieces and 2 great nephews and her second cousin. Sharon is also survived by her fiancé John Yakscoe.
A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held on Saturday February 25th at 11:00am at Warrington Fellowship Church, 1455 Cooper Lane, Warrington, PA 18976. Her family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am prior to the service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sharon’s memory may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, Philadelphia Tri-State Area, 101 Greenwood Ave., Ste. 200, Jenkintown, PA 19046 or to Stray Cat Blues Rescue, P.O. Box 8, Colmar, PA 18915.
