Obituary for Sae Myung Lee

Sae Myung Lee of Warminster, PA., formerly of Virginia passed away on Monday April 12, 2021 at his daughter’s home in Warminster. Sae was 74 years old.

Born in Inchon Korea, Sae was the son of the late Bong Seong and Hwa Sun (Chung) Lee.

Sae had moved from Korea to Ecuador and was self employed owning his own business in Imports & Exports. He eventually settled as a welder in Virginia with his family in 1999. Sae had retired and took up hiking. He continued in his quest for knowledge and learning. He enrolled in many classes which he learned about computers. He loved to build and tinker around his home. As a Grand Master in Taekwondo, Sae became the Head Coach for the 1988 Ecuadorian Olympic Taekwondo Team. At the time, Taekwondo was not recognized as an Olympic sport. Through Sae’s efforts, he helped Taekwondo become recognized as an Olympic sport.

Sae is survived by his children Kun Veronica Lee (Michael), Esther Guard (Michael) and Ji Hun Lee (Ji Eun) and his 7 grandchildren. He is also survived by his 4 sisters and a brother who live in Korea.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 6:00 pm on Friday, April 23, 2021 at New Covenant Church (새언약교회) on 10018 Burke Lake Rd. Burke, VA 22015.
