Obituary for Roman I. Ulans

Roman I.  Ulans
Roman I. Ulans a 57-year resident of Pipersville, died on July 6, 2014 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 100 years old. Roman was a long time resident of the Pine Run Community. Born in Ramey, PA in 1914, son of the late Rev. and Mrs. Vladimir J. Ulanytzky of Northampton, PA, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master in Business Administration degree at Harvard University. Interrupting his engineering career at the Consolidated Edison Company of New York to serve in the Army in 1941, Colonel Ulans retired from military service in 1966 to return to industry with the Communications Satellite Corporation in Washington, DC. In 1978 he retired to live at his home in Pipersville.
He was the beloved husband of the late Morwenna Christian Tellier Ulans to whom he was married for 60 years. He is survived by 5 of their 6 children: Barbara Johnson, Santa Rosa CA; Martha Knieriem, Pipersville, PA; Alexandra Kobezak, Coeur d'Alene, ID; Julia Lim, Carmel-by-the-Sea CA;. and Joseph Ulans, Mission Viejo, CA; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Roman was predeceased by his son Gregory Ulans.
Roman’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00am at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, on Saturday July 12, 2014. Warrington, PA Internment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Ottsville. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at the Shelly Funeral Home Easton and Keller’s Church Rds. Plumsteadville, and Saturday at the Church from 9:00am until the time of Mass.
