Obituary for Robert J. McCann

Robert J. McCann, Sr. passed away on Saturday September 10, 2022 surrounded by his family at his home in Warminster. He was 74 years old.

Born in Philadelphia, Bob was the son of the late Daniel J. Jr., and Helen (Shaw) McCann, Bresnahan (Bill).
Bob was the beloved husband and best friend of Yvonne Marie (Gaughran) McCann together. The couple had shared 54 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Robert John McCann, Jr. (Heather), and Daniel Joseph McCann (Michelle). He also leaves behind his 5 grandchildren Ryan James, Cullen Robert, Merin Blair, Addison Rose, and Quinn Marie. Bob is also survived by his siblings; Daniel J. McCann, III and Susan H. Brookes, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob retired from the flooring industry after 30 years and was highly respected and valued by many. He had received multiple awards; including the prestigious Presidents Award.

Bob was active in the Parkwood Youth Organization where he had served as Athletic Director; he also had coached many of Bobby, Jr., and Danny’s youth football and baseball teams leading one of the teams all the way to a Championship win.

Bob was an avid car enthusiast and appreciated the classics. In a June 2019 car show, he took home a trophy with his Chevy Camaro, “Green Flash”.

In addition to his love for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, his love for Doo-Wop and “the oldies” was evident. When the music began to play, he couldn’t resist hitting the dance floor with his favorite gal on his arm!

Bob will long be remembered for his generous heart, his fierce loyalty to those he cared for, and his deep love for his family. His grandchildren were the apples of his eye and he could always be found at their various activities. He was a proud Pop-Pop for sure.

Bob’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 856 Euclid Ave., Warrington, PA 18976. The family will receive friends at the Church from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. Interment will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
