Obituary for Rita D. Hicks
Rita D. Hicks, of Plumstead Twp., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at her residence. She was 71.
Rita was the loving wife of Robert Hicks.
In addition to her husband, Robert, Rita will be deeply missed by her children, William Hicks, Kathleen Smithem (Thomas), James Hicks, Edward Hicks; two grandchildren, Edwin and Archer; 5 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary Donegan.
Rita received her Bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College, and her Master’s degree from The Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis.
Her greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with her large family and longtime friends. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren and yearly trips to Sea Isle City, NJ. Rita will be remembered by all who knew her for her power of positivity and endless love to give.
Rita’s services were held privately by the immediate family.
A Celebration of Life event for all family and friends will be held at the Plumsteadville Inn, in Plumsteadville Pa on January 21, 2023, beginning at noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rita’s memory may be made to Doylestown Health Foundation, 595 W. State St., Doylestown, PA 18901. Please designate “Moss Rehab at Doylestown Hospital” for donations.
