Obituary for Regina M. Hobaugh

Regina M Hobaugh, long time resident of Warrington PA, age 68, peacefully passed on July 6, 2014.
She was born at St Agnes Hospital in South Philadelphia on September 13, 1945 to Albin. J and Rose M. (DiNote) Mengis. As an only child she was blessed to have a large, close-nit and loving extended family, DiNote's, who grew up together on/near Wolf Street, South Philadelphia. Gina attended St Monica’s grade school and later moved to Cinnaminson NJ, graduating from Holy Cross High School. She went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from Holy Family College, Master’s degree from University of Dayton and PhD from Temple University. Gina married John W. Hobaugh of Irwin PA on October 11, 1969.
Gina was an avid alumnus of Holy Family and served the students and campus community as Professor and Dean for the School of Arts and Sciences for forty-one years before retiring in 2010. Gina was dedicated to her students, colleagues, many friends and to the Mission of Holy Family University.
Additionally, Gina served as an ethics advisor on the Fox Chase Cancer Center’s institutional review board. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish where she has a supportive group of friends in “Why Catholic?”.
She is survived by her Husband, John W. Hobaugh and two children; Julie M. (Van Campen) and John D. and his wife Stephanie. Gina adores her two grandchildren Jacob and Sophie Hobaugh. As a family, they have spent her retirement traveling and enjoying cruises. As a youth, Gina loved fun filled (extended) family summer gatherings spent in Franklinville, NJ and continued the tradition of family reunions at her home surrounded by woods and fields (for the country version of half-ball games) in Warrington.
Regina’s Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 856 Euclid Ave., Warrington. Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Warrington.
Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington and Friday at Church from 9:00am until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Percy Lee Dairy Farm Foundation bankbarn.org or to the Fox Chase Cancer Center 7701 Burholme Ave., Philadelphia PA 19111.
