Obituary for Ralph S. Charles

Ralph S.  Charles
Ralph S. Charles, a recent resident of Ann’s Choice, passed away on Tuesday, July 01, 2014. He was 94.
Ralph was the loving husband of Hazel R. Charles. The couple enjoyed 70 years of marriage. He is also survived by 2 sons, Raymond (Linda) and Wayne (Kathi), 5 grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer (Nelson), Tiffany, Bonnie and Leeann and 1 great grandchild, Jaelyn. He is also survived by a brother Roy and several nieces and nephews.
Born in Chalfont, he was a son of the late Oscar and Alma Charles. The family soon moved to Jamison where Ralph spent most of his life.
He was an active member of Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church as well as the Warwick Fire Co. where he served as director for 8 years. He was also a member of the NRA, AARP and was active with Boy Scout Troop 80 while his son was a Scout.
Ralph had been employed with SPS Technologies for 43 years retiring in 1982. He also enjoyed carpentry and enjoyed helping his father who was a builder. He built his own home along with his 3 brothers on Charles Lane in Jamison. Following SPS, Ralph enjoyed working at the Gemmills Farm in Jamison where he did odd jobs, helped picking apples and repairing furniture. These were some of his happiest days.
Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and being close to nature and God. He passed that love onto his boys.
Ralph’s funeral service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church, 1401 Meetinghouse Road, Warminster 18974 where the family will receive friends after 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
