Obituary for Patricia Place Williams

Patricia Place Williams, of Pennsburg, passed away on June 30, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem. Her last days were spent surrounded by her loving family. She was 79.

Patricia “Pat” was the beloved wife of John Howard Williams, Jr. The couple recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in April. In addition to spending time with their family, they loved to spend time together reading, golfing, watching sports, and going to their favorite restaurants.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the only daughter of the late Frederick and Barbara Place.

Pat attended Penn State University where she graduated with her master’s degree in Elementary Education.

Pat loved working as an elementary school teacher at Kutz Elementary School prior to starting her family. After her daughters were born, she stayed home full time to raise and care for her children. Pat’s life was always an adventure as she moved with her family to many places throughout the years including Illinois, California, and Japan. During the early years, they enjoyed traveling, camping, boating, and swim meets. Upon returning to the New Hope area in Pennsylvania, she returned to working as a substitute teacher in Central Bucks School District for several years. Pat and John moved to Pennsburg, PA after their daughters started their own families.

Pat had a contagious, positive energy and smile that lit up the room. She loved to be around people and was always so proud to share stories about her family and grandchildren. Simple pleasures in life gave her great joy. She loved baseball, golf, and Penn State. Fondly known as “Grammy”, she was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family was her life’s greatest enjoyment. She was overjoyed to become a great grandmother this past year to sweet baby Weston. Pat was always the biggest cheerleader when it came to supporting her daughters and grandchildren in their many sports and activities. She was very active and prided herself on walking, going to the gym, and taking part in a weekly golf league. Always willing to babysit, host family dinners, and attend important family events, her wonderful giving and caring spirit was evident in all that she did.

In addition to her husband, John, Patricia will be deeply missed by her three daughters, Aimee Mraz (Joseph), Heidi Fazio (Scott), Debbie Gray; 6 grandchildren, Tyler, Alyssa, Caroline, William, Andrew, Matthew (Corinne); her great grandson, Weston; a brother, Frederick Place (Karen); and her nieces and nephews, Peter Place, Jr., Wendy Place Burns, Jenny Ruth, Lauren Foresman, and Garrett Place.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Peter Place; and a son-in-law, Mike Gray.

A celebration of life for Patricia will be held at a later date.
