Obituary for Nicholas J. Lochetta

Nicholas J. Lochetta, 85, of Doylestown, passed away peacefully on Sunday February 19, 2023
surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Marie A. (Gasbarra) Lochetta. Together the
couple would have celebrated their 56th  wedding anniversary in March.

Nick was born in Philadelphia and was the son of the late Anthony and Rose (Ritorto) Lochetto.

Nick began his career as a heavy equipment operator and ended it successfully as an Equipment
Superintendent. He was a proud and dedicated member of the Operating Engineers Local 542, where he
made lifelong friends and received several awards for his loyal service.

Nick was hardworking, and a dedicated father who passed a strong work ethic on to his children. He
loved fishing with his son and son-in-law, cooking with and sitting on the beach with his daughters, and
creating a beautiful home for his wife and children. He loved to travel, especially to Italy, and had a
sense of adventure to try new things. He enjoyed gardening and pruning and was often recognized by
his neighbors for his impeccable care of his yard. His grandchildren were one of his greatest joys.
In addition to his wife Maria Nick is survived by his children; Fran Cardaci (Mark), Rosanne Pileggi
Knowles (Jim), and Nicholas J. Lochetta II (Laura). He was preceded in death by his son Peter A. Lochetta.
Nick was the brother of Rocco Lochetto (Maryann), Mary Weingard (Jeff), and the late Anthony
Lochetto.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Christopher and James Lochetta, and Valerie Asaro
(Joe). He was the great-grandfather of Nathan Asaro.

Services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, His family would appreciate donations in his memory to the YMCA of Bucks and
Hunterdon Counties. www.ymcabhc.org 2500 Lower State Rd, Doylestown, PA 18901
