Obituary for Michael W. Waldron, USMC

GySgt Michael W. Waldron, United States Marine Corps, 88, passed away peacefully at the Delaware Valley Veteran’s Home in Philadelphia on Saturday, January 15, 2023.

He is survived by his children, Victoria Gordon, Catherine (Keith) Shaw, William (Donna) Waldron, Joseph (Sharon) Waldron, Patricia (Matt) Kingsbauer and Mary Tennison; his grandchildren, Thomas Walters, Mark Graber, Tina Ruble, Christopher Waldron, Maggie Curran, Katie, Vickie and Debbie Waldron, Clayton Tennison, Kate Brummer, Madison and Griffin Kingsbauer and great-grandchildren Leah Waldron, Cloe and Josiah Ruble.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon, second wife, Dorothy, and his older sisters, Eileen, Patricia and Zita.

Michael, originally of the Far Rockaways & Queens, New York, attended William Culler Bryant High School and then served honorably in the United States Marines from 1956 to 1973 serving as an 0311 Infantry, as a Marines Security Guard on Embassy Duty in Saudi Araba and in Tangiers, Morocco where he met his future wife, Sharon Lee Griffiths. He served for 20 years including two tours in Korea and three combat tours in Vietnam.
Michael was active in the Marine Corps League-Central Bucks Detachment as a founding, charter member and volunteered for more than 30 years with that organization including establishing their “Adopt A Highway” program. He was also a life member of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Marine Division Associations, the Fleet Reserve Association and the Marine Embassy Guard Association. Michael donated countless hours to aiding his fellow veterans.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 19th 2023 at the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington, PA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow the funeral service at Union Cemetery in Richboro.
