Mary A. Aspden passed away on Tuesday January 11, 2022, at her home in Doylestown after a brave battle with cancer. Mary was born in Eau Gallie, Florida; she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Allene (Dean) Hillis.
Mary was the wife of William C. Aspden. The couple was married for 41 wonderful years.
Mary was a pre-school teacher for many years at Small Wonders Pre-School in Doylestown where she formed lifelong friendships. She went on to work with her husband at Moe’s Southwest Grill for the last 15 years. She was an active member at Doylestown Presbyterian Church where she volunteered with Code Blue. Code Blue provides shelter for homeless during times of severe weather in the winter. She also volunteered for Community Meals at DPC.
In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her sister Lee Ann Starr (Lee) and their children Taylor, Joshua, & Kyle. Mary is also survived by her daughters Lindsey Kelly (Brian), Karen Fackner (Matthew) and Kimberly Aspden. She was the GrandMary of Lindsey’s children Eamon and Fionn, Karen’s children Benjamin, Nolan, and Dean, and Kimberly’s children Selena, Lily, Luis, and Gabriel.
Her greatest joys were sitting on beaches all up and down the East coast, slip & sliding with her son-in-law and grand-kids, and growing sunflowers.
A Memorial Service for Mary will be held on Saturday January 15, 2022, at 11:00 am at Doylestown Presbyterian Church 127 E. Court St. Doylestown. The family will receive friends following the service.
Interment will be held privately.
