Obituary for John M. "Jack" Schubert

Print
John M. Schubert “Jack” of Warrington passed away on Thursday December 6, 2018 at Neshaminy Manor in Doylestown. Jack was 76 years old.

Born in Philadelphia, Jack was the son of the late John J. and Catherine (Nee Bennis) Schubert. He had resided in Germantown, Fox Chase, and Doylestown prior to settling in Warrington.

Jack was the husband of Ida (Chick) M. Schubert. Together they shared 56 years of marriage. Jack was a proud graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School class of 1960. He had been employed in sales, working in the trucking/transportation industry for many years. His job had required him to travel often. He also had worked at Wegmans in Warrington.

Jack was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Horsham Valley Golf Club. He was an enthusiastic sports fan, cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers. He was a fan of Big 5 basketball through the years and avid supporter of Saint Joseph’s basketball, “The Hawk Will Never Die.”
Jack loved spending his free time watching classic movies and singing his favorite tunes from the 50’s like songs from Al Jolson, Johnny Mathis, Bing Crosby and more.
He enjoyed many summers with his family riding the waves at both Wildwood and Long Beach, New Jersey.

In addition to his wife Chick, Jack is survived by his children Joann McGarvey (John), Susan Fanelli (Nick), and Michael Schubert (Melissa). He was the grandfather of Matthew and Lauren McGarvey, Grant and Avrie Fanelli and Carson and Dean Schubert. He also is survived by his brothers Bob ( the late Pat) and Jim Schubert (Judy).

Jack’s Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington, where the family will receive friends after 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be held privately.
