John T. Rush, Sr. of Warrington passed away on Sunday, November 14 at Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia. John was 85 years old. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father and Poppop who loved golf, music and laughter.
Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late William and Marie (Basquill) Rush.
John was the cherished husband of 60 years to Miriam J. (Avylla) Rush.
John attended night school at Drexel University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1984. He was employed at the Naval Air Development Center in Warminster from 1966 until his retirement in 1995 where he then went to work for Sage Technologies in Lansdale and officially retired from engineering in 2003. After his retirement, John worked part-time at Pine Crest Golf Course.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children Christine Koestel (Rudy), John Jr. (Kim), Sue Neal (John), Joseph Rush (Melanie), his sister Ronnie Martino (Ernie), sister-in-law Marlyn Rush and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his grandchildren Josh, Shea (Andrew), Ethan, Makenna, Griffin, James, and Sarah. John was preceded in death by five of his siblings William, Marie, Paul, Eddie, and Kathleen.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 19th at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 856 Euclid Ave Warrington, PA from 10:00-11:00am immediately followed by a Funeral Mass and interment at St. John Neumann Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
