Obituary for John D. Mckinney
John D. McKinney passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 3, 2021 surrounded by his family at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia. John was 49 years old.
A lifetime resident of Warminster, John was the son of LeRoy T. (Brenda) and the late Anna R. (Leary) McKinney.
John was a graduate of Archbishop Wood High School, Class of 1989, where he was a 4-year All-Catholic member of the football and wrestling teams. In John’s senior year he was the National Prep High School Wrestling Champion at 189 lbs. As an adult, John helped coach with his brother Mike at George Washington High School.
John attended Gwynedd Mercy University and earned certification as a radiologic technologist. More recently, John was self-employed as the owner of McKinney Exterior Cleaning.
In his kind and gentle way, John volunteered at the Benjamin Wilson Senior Center in Warminster. He also donated regularly to Bethanna in Southampton and sponsored several children through World Vision.
John enjoyed listening to music, playing the guitar, going to drive-in movies, and spending time with friends and family.
In addition to his father Roy, John is survived by his brothers Michael (Maureen) Daniel (Karen) and Eric McKinney. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. John will be fondly remembered by his many friends.
John’s family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00pm on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Rd., Warrington, PA 18976. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday April, 10, at St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.
In compliance with Covid-19 guidelines social distancing and masks will be required. It will also be expected that once you have offered your condolences to the family, you exit the building and the property to allow for others to pay their respects to the family.
