Obituary for John R Campbell
John R Campbell, of Tinicum Twp., PA, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 76.
John was the loving husband of Beverly “Betsi” Megonnell Campbell. The couple spent 45 wonderful years together.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was a son of the late Ted and Olive Campbell.
John proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era from 1963-1966. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal for his service.
After being honorably discharged from the Navy, John attended Newark State College (now Kean University) in New Jersey where he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.
John worked as a social worker and trainer with the State of New Jersey for 25 years.
His greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with his wife and friends.
In addition to his wife, Betsi, John will be deeply missed by his “children”, Johnny, Cece, Cali, and Teddy (his faithful cat companions); and many friends.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by a brother, James Campbell.
Services for John will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Arlington National Cemetery.
