Obituary for James W. "Jim" Schleiden

James W. Schleiden, of Bedminster Twp., passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 80.

Jim was the loving husband of the Susan Schleiden. The couple would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in June.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Gilbert and Mary Schleiden.

Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era from 1960 to 1964.

Jim worked for and retired from Nucero Electrical Construction Co., Inc. after forty years.

In his free time, Jim enjoyed puzzling, but his greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Susan, Jim will be deeply missed by his two sons, Richard Sprangers (Maggie), Michael Sprangers (Laura); 5 grandchildren, Dina, Crystal, Gavin, Addy, Lola; two sisters, Mary Garris (Jim), Ruth Bonz; a brother, Frank Schleiden (Trish); a sister-in-law, Joan Schleiden; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by a brother, Bert Schleiden; and a brother-in-law, Ron Bonz.

A memorial service celebrating Jim’s life will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Shelly Funeral Home, 5930 Easton Road, Plumsteadville, PA 8949. Jim’s family will receive friends from 9:30 until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Deep Run Mennonite West Cemetery.
