Obituary for James Douglas Black Sr.

James Douglas Black, Sr., of Hatboro, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Artman Lutheran Home in Ambler. He was 77.

He was the loving and caring husband of the late Patricia Louise Black.

Born in South Norfolk, VA, James was the son of the late Clara Elizabeth and John Joseph Black.

Jim was employed as a machine press operator for Metco Tool & Die Co. for over 20 years. He was employed for Cayuga's Concrete Pipe Co as a concrete mold operator for 13 years. He also worked for Black's Tree & Landscape for over 10 years doing tree work with his son.

Jim enjoyed listening to country music. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing; but most of all, he loved spending time with his family, friends, and his dog, Buster.

Jim is survived by his three children, Sandra Kelly (Eugene), Lisa Gallagher (Peter), James Black, Jr. (Donna); 9 grandchildren, Collin, Brandon, Shayna, Shawn, Kyle, Michael, Kevin, Mikayla, Abigail; and many loving friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Jim is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lydia Black.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Jim’s services will be private at the convenience of the family at Rosedale Memorial Park, Bensalem.
