Obituary for Iso Arslan

Iso Arslan, of Philadelphia, passed away peacfully on August 10, 2020 at his residence. He was 78.


Iso was the beloved husband of Gitta Arslan. Iso moved to Rome, Italy in 1968. That is where he met Gitta. They immigrated to the United States separately in 1969. They eventually married in 1970 in Philadelphia. The couple has spent the last 50 years together.



Of Albanian Heritage, Iso was born in former Yugoslavia and was a son of the late Mustafa and Fatima Arslani.



Iso spent most of his work career employed by Fleer Bubble Gum in Philadelphia as a machinist and also as a barber. He eventually retired as a machinist from H&E Tool Manufacturing.



In his free time, Iso enjoyed playing competitive soccer and spending time with his family and friends.



In addition to his wife, Gitta, Iso is survived by his three sons, Myreon Arslan (Hadley), Jim Arslan (Jennifer), Ben Arslan (Maria); and five grandchildren, Sadie, Ethan, Emily, Bradford and Liam.



Iso is preceded in death by his parents, as well as, his three brothers and two sisters.



A celebration of Iso’s life will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 from 1-3 PM at the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington, PA 18976. Interment will follow at Doylestown Cemetery. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be required. Please understand that only small groups will be permitted to enter the building at one time. Visitors will be asked to exit the property as soon as able to allow for others to arrive. Anyone wishing to go to the Cemetery will be asked to wait in their car.
