Ida M. (Chick) Schubert (Regan), of Warrington, passed through the gates of heaven on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 4:55am in Neshaminy Manor, 5 weeks to the day of her arrival there. She was 83, just recently having celebrated her birthday.
Born in Philadelphia, Ida was the daughter of the late Clinton and Dorothy Regan. She grew up in Germantown and attended Little Flower High School.
Ida was the loving, devoted wife of the late John M. (Jack) Schubert. They raised their three children together in Fox Chase. An active parishioner of St. Cecilia’s, she regularly assisted in the school and Kindergarten classrooms. She loved her time working in the infant room at Jeanes Child Care Center. Upon moving to Doylestown, Ida was parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. She found both fulfilling work and wonderful friendships at Children’s Village of Doylestown Hospital. Ida was an Assistant Teacher for 25 years, lovingly caring for so many young children. Upon moving in with her oldest daughter and family, Ida was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Warrington.
Ida was a kind, fun-loving, giving woman. She adored children. They were her life’s passion and she poured so much love into all the children ever in her care, especially her 7 grandchildren. Ida enjoyed many memories on Long Beach Island (LBI). She loved all things Disney. She was overjoyed to celebrate her 80th birthday in Disney World in 2019. She always loved a good parade. Ida loved the fall season and decorating for all holidays, especially Christmas. She was an avid shopper of QVC and loved watching Hallmark movies and Game Show Network. Ida enjoyed her daily cup of tea, Lays Potato chips, olives, Olive Garden soup & salad, and butter pecan ice cream. She spent her free time taking care of and playing with her grandchildren, soaking in time with family. She loved shopping trips, crossword puzzles, playing her Yahtzee, and loving on all the family dogs. She enjoyed music and especially loved listening to Johnny Mathis, Alan Jackson, Elvis Presley, and Frankie Vallie. Her blue plaid slippers and Christmas Mickey necklace were treasures till the very end.
Ida will be deeply missed by her children, Joann McGarvey (John), Michael Schubert (Melissa), Susan Fanelli (Nick); 7 grandchildren, Matthew, Lauren, Carson, Dean, Grant, Avrie, Nixon; her brother, Stephen Regan (Paulette); her sister, Joan Sharp (George); her sister-in-law, Rosemary Regan And so many others who loved her.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ida is preceded in death by a daughter, Marybeth and brother, Clinton Regan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 15, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 856 Euclid Ave., Warrington, PA 18976. Ida’s family will receive friends from 9:00 until the time of the Mass. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
