Obituary for Henry M. Bechtold
Henry M. Bechtold, 76, of Pipersville, PA passed away on Wednesday October 26, 2022 at Doylestown Hospital.
Born in Lancaster, PA, Henry spent most of his life in Southampton, PA, before moving to Pipersville. He graduated from William Tennant High School in 1964. After serving his country in Viet Nam, Henry worked as a Computer Programmer until retiring in 2008.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav and Helen (Friedrich) Bechtold, as well as his son, Randy. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan M. (Reed) Bechtold. In addition to his wife, Henry is survived by his daughter, Tania (Bechtold) Thomas. He is also survived by his sister, Carol (Donald) Donnon and his brother Paul (Beth) Bechtold. Henry will be greatly missed by his 6 grandchildren, Dylan (Nicole) Thomas, Jackson Thomas, Raven Bechtold, Kerri Bechtold, Amber (Kevin) Mueller, Kyle Thomas, as well as his 4 great grandchildren, Boudekya, Emberly, Trinity and Keala Thomas. Henry is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Mary Simmons Bechtold, and her children Sekou Simmons, Elon Smalls, Ethan Vrontisis, and Sean O'Donnell.
Henry was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Pipersville, PA. In his free time, he enjoyed being with his family and traveling, especially to Vietnam. Henry made many friends in Viet Nam and was always happy to visit with them and have them visit him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service at 11:30am on November 2, 2022, at Christ Lutheran Church, 353 E Dark Hollow Rd, Pipersville, PA 18947. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Tinicum Union Cemetery.
