Obituary for Helen Koutsouros

On March 9, 2023, Helen Tashie Koutsouros passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters. She was 101 years old.

Helen was the only child of the late Nicholas and Martha (Herda) Tashie. She attended West Philadelphia High School and received a scholarship to Temple University in English which was her second language; her first being Greek.

In 1943 she married Peter G. Koutsouros. Together Helen and Peter worked tirelessly to provide for their three daughters. Once their youngest daughter was in school Helen began to work as a teller for Doylestown National Bank. From there she was hired by Penn Engineering and Manufacturing where she rose to become a board member as a corporate officer.

The most important part of her life was to be a role model for her three daughters in every way that she could.
In her free time Helen enjoyed traveling the world, sewing, cooking gourmet recipes, entertaining friends and family, reading, and most of all visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

All who knew her loved her ability to converse on any subject displaying her knowledge, wisdom and awareness of the world in which she lived. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, for all who knew her were better people because of spending time with Helen.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Tasia Mullock (the late Norman), Diane Lueckel (Stephen) and Kristina Lankford (Donald). She was a grandmother to Tiffany Andre, Stephanie Lueckel-Haar, Farah Moyer and Kristen Buckler. She was a great grandmother to James and Clara Moyer, Chase and Summer Buckler and Maxton, Emery and Niko Haar.

Helen's funeral service will be held at 11:30am on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 7921 Old York Road Elkins Park, PA. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30am until the time of the service. Internment will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
