Gregory J. Smith of Doylestown, PA died on August 7, 2014 with friends and family at his side. He was 52. Greg was a Graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. He was a self employed Insurance Broker and had earned designations of CLU and CHFC, and several times was honored as salesman of the year. Greg served on the screening board for the University of Pennsylvania prospective students. He enjoyed traveling with his friends. Maui and Key West were two of his favorite destinations.
Many family memories were made in Ocean City, NJ and the Outer Banks, NC. He loved playing card games with his Grandparents and his Uncle. Greg loved living in Bucks County and was well known in the community. He was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed playing golf. Greg would always go above and beyond helping others including strangers. Greg will be greatly missed by everyone. Greg is survived by his beloved wife Lorraine A. (Nee McNelis) Smith, his loving parents James R. and Sandra L Smith, his loving sister Donna Lynn Olshansky (Doug) and his Grandmother Lydia McMahan. Greg is also survived by his sister in laws; Donna Selfon, Michelle Calloway, his mother in law Doris L. Flanagan (Michael), aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Greg’s Funeral Service will be held on Thursday August 14, 2014, 12:00noon at the Shelly Funeral Home 1460 Easton Road Warrington, Pa. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 10:00am until the time of service. Internment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105
