Obituary for Gladys M. Reilly

Gladys May Reilly, 95, of Furlong, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully, at her home, on the morning of Tuesday, May 24, 2022

Born in Abington, PA, Gladys was the daughter of the late Isaac R. and May Allen. Preceding her in death were her siblings, Edgar Allen, Robert T. Allen, and Calvin Allen; her beloved husband, Hugh Reilly; and two grandchildren, James and Missy.

She is survived by her five children; sons, James Reilly, Dennis Reilly, David Reilly, Thomas Reilly (husband of Christy Steiber Reilly); and her daughter, Patricia Malmendier; her former daughters-in-law, Linda Eichorne, Sue Crane & Alice Reilly; and her former son-in-law, Paul Malmendier.

She also is survived by her grandchildren; Kimberly, Craig, Kari, Dan, Sean, Brian, Jordan, Alexis, Thomas, Eleanor, Kayla, Tammy, Theresa, Michele; and a great many great grandchildren.

Gladys was the heart and soul of her family, who will miss her always, and will remain forever grateful for her love.

Gladys had a great love of children, especially babies, and she was beloved by the families she babysat for over the years, the Solomon family, The Polatty family, The Koenig family, the Cochran family, and many others, and she is remembered fondly by their children, for her love, and kindness, and her delicious homemade applesauce.

Gladys was known for her great energy and vivacity. Her greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with her family and friends. She was active in her community, and was a founding member of the Warwick Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

She and her daughter Patty collected dolls for many years, creating many memories as members of the Bux Mont Doll Collectors. Gladys was also an avid gardener, known for her beautiful gardens, and she passed her love of gardening down to her children.

Gladys was a member of Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church in Hartsville, PA, She particularly enjoyed attending the Christmas Eve Midnight service.

Gladys’ family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Rd., Warrington, PA 18976

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Rd., Warrington, PA 18976. Interment at Neshaminy Warwick Cemetery, will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gladys’ memory may be made to the Warwick Twp. Fire Company, 2390 York Rd., Jamison, PA 18929
