Obituary for George W. Kofron

George W. Kofron, 78, of Doylestown, formerly of El Campo, TX passed away on February 17, 2020 in his home after a long battle with lung cancer with his wife Bonnie by his side.

Born in Gobbler’s Creek, TX, George was the son of the late Charles Kofron and Rose Fucik Kofron. At 17, he joined the US Army which brought him to Pennsylvania where he served at the Nike Missile Base in Warrington and trained German Shepherds. Later he joined Eureka Stone Quarry and retired after 35 years of employment.

George was an incredibly gregarious man. Everyone he met liked him instantly. During his retirement, he enjoyed playing Fantasy Baseball, taking trips to Texas, going to the gym, listening to and singing along with Johnny Cash, and spending time with his family.

George is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Bonnie, and his children and stepchildren, George Kofron (Jeannie),Lisa Reichert (Jim), William Kofron, Barb Bellettiere, Michael Bellettiere, and Karen Pursel (Tom).

He is also survived by his brother, Charles Kofron. George was predeceased by his sisters, Adela Holub and Charlene Engstrom, and brothers, John and Clarence Kofron, and Donald Sittig.

In addition he is also survived by his grandchildren, Allison Rank (Zac), Michael Kofron (Monica), Amy Rastetter (Joe), Tyler, Sydney, and Billy Kofron, Mikey and Mia Bellettiere, and Natalie, Ava, and Audrey Pursel.


The family will receive friends on Friday, February 28th, 10:30-11:30am, at the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington. George's Memorial Service will begin at 11:30am. Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown.
