Obituary for Elmer W. Ingram Jr.

Elmer W. Ingram, Jr. passed away on Thursday February 10, 2022 at Immaculate Mary Home in Philadelphia. Elmer was 73 years old.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Elmer W. and Helen R. (Martin) Ingram, Sr.

Elmer went to Girard College, graduating in June 1966. He was active in many activities including the yearbook, school newspaper, Choir, and Swim Team. In his senior year he was a co-captain of the swim team and set a school record.

As a young boy he was a soloist in the choir, as a soprano. He later became a tenor.

Elmer's father also attended Girard College, graduating around 1933.

Elmer worked for 30 years at DLA, The Defense Logistics Agency, the Department of Defense's in Philadelphia.

He had served in Vietnam in the Air Force and later joined the Air Force Reserves. Elmer had served for 35 years.

Elmer is survived by his children, Charmae Haak (Michael), Heather Berry (Ron), and John E. Wallace Ingram. He was the brother of Beverly Leinhesier (Fred). He also was survived by his grandchildren:Skylar, James, Olivia Haak, Christine Ingram, Scarlett and Aiden Berry, and Bryan McGuigan.

Elmer’s Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday 12noon at the Shelly Funeral Home 1460 Easton Road, Warrington. Internment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5-7pm and Wednesday from 11:00am until the time of service.
