Eileen M. Sholly, of Warrington, passed away on Friday, December 2nd, 2022 at Doylestown Hospital at the age of 83.
Eileen was the devoted, loving wife of the late James G. Sholly, Sr. who passed in October of 2009.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the only daughter of the late
James & Vivian McCann.
Eileen was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Warrington since well before the Church was built (when masses were said at the original Barn Cinema). She embodied the values of the Catholic faith, setting a strong example for her family.
Eileen worked as an Administrative Assistant for over 30 years until her retirement. She was well known and respected for her ever present smile and her warm, welcoming demeanor.
In her free time, Eileen enjoyed saying the rosary, reading, and QVC shopping. But her real joy in life came from spending time with her family. She had an unmistakable, infectious laugh that was always on the ready. Her penchant for stating the obvious was of superhuman proportions resulting in the moniker “Captain Obvious”, which she has been lovingly referred to as for the better part of 2 decades. She was always a good sport about the teasing and developed some impressive comeback skills in her older years.
Eileen had other beautiful qualities too. The kind that make anyone she met feel special, noticed, and loved.
You always felt important when in her presence.
Eileen will be deeply missed by her children: Donna McKinney (Gavin), of Hilltown, James G. Sholly Jr. (Barbara), of Warrington, Victoria Fonseca (Christopher), of Cape May, NJ, Krista Burns (Jonathan), of Fort Washington; 6 grandchildren: AJ, Stella, Jonny, Jimmy, Patrick, and Kaelyn.
and her three brothers: James, Jack, and Gerry McCann.
Eileen’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 856 Euclid Ave., Warrington, PA 18976. Her family will receive friends the night before, Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM at the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington, PA 18976. There will be no viewing on Friday morning. Interment will follow the Mass on Friday at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Eileen’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284.
