Obituary for Edward Vincent Fanelli

Edward Vincent Fanelli, of Hilltown Twp., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 17, 2022. He was 87.

Edward was the loving husband of Dolores Fanelli. The couple celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in November.

Born in Shenadoah, PA, he was a son of the late Edward and Helen Fanelli and was also preceded in death by his first newborn son, Mark.

Edward proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as an Army Specialist and attended Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster, PA where he completed his area of study in carpentry. He later retired after a successful career with Prudential Insurance Company.

Edward was very friendly, genuinely kind and complimentary to nearly everyone he knew and met. He loved talking to people, sharing stories and you would never leave his company without first getting an astrology reading.

He was a talented musician, saxophonist, songwriter and poet, often writing romantic poems to his beloved wife. He enjoyed woodworking, cooking, family gatherings and the beach where he was proudly the oldest boogie boarder on the coast.

You would often find him outside on his 10 acre property where the caretaking was more joy for him than work. He had a strong faith and was devoted to his church and committed to praying the rosary every day.

In addition to his wife, Dolores, Edward will be deeply missed by his children, Edward, Stephanie, and Maria Fanelli; his sister, Louise Milewski (Albin); and his brother, Robert Fanelli (Alison).

Funeral services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Edward’s memory may be made to one of his supported charities, Disabled American Veterans – DAV, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or online at www.DAV.org.
