Obituary for Edward W. Devinney

Edward William Devinney of Melbourne, Fl., formerly of Warrington, passed away on April 21, 2023 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne Fl. Ed was 88 years old. He was the husband of the late Jean Calise Devinney of Lansdale PA and is survived by his sweetheart Kathy O'Brien of Melbourne Florida. Ed had one older brother, the late Francis Devinney of Huntington Valley PA.

Ed attended North Catholic High School in Philadelphia, and had received an Associate Degree from Temple University.

Ed served his Country in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1955 onboard USS TORTUGA (LSD-41), which included a combat tour in the Korean War.

Ed had been employed as a Software Engineer with various divisions of UNISYS Corporation for over 30 years.



Ed is survived by his children Dr. Colleen Devinney-Ward, DO and her Husband Dr. William Ward, DO and Captain Edward William Devinney II, United States Navy (retired) and his wife Janet Yang Devinney. He was also survived by his grandchildren Ryan Ward, Natalie Ward, Sean Ward, Edward Maximus Devinney III and Jay Cole Devinney.

Ed was a devoted Husband, Father, and friend to a countless number of people.

Ed’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday May 3, 2023 at 11:00am at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church 856 Euclid Ave. Warrington. The family will receive friends at the Church from 10:00am until the time of Mass. Internment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) or the American Cancer Society.
