Obituary for Edna J. Schmieder
Edna J. Schmieder, of Doylestown, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Doylestown Hospital. She was 97.
Edna was the loving wife of the late Robert Schmieder.
Born February 16, 1925 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Mary Sheaffer.
Edna was a graduate of Doylestown High School in 1943. She, then, worked as a supervisor at Bell Telephone until 1949. After Bell Telephone, she was an operator at Penn State’s Old Main. Later, Edna used her skills volunteering, especially at Doylestown Hospital.
In her free time, Edna enjoyed knitting, reading, and sending birthday cards.
Edna will be deeply missed by her son, Robert Schmieder, and his wife, Patti.
In addition to her husband and parents, Edna was preceded in death by a son, Barry Schmieder; her siblings, Leonard, Mary, and Richard.
Services for Edna will be private at the convenience of the family.
