Obituary

Obituary for Dorothy (Dot) H. Peniston

On Sunday February 2nd, 2020 Dorothy (Dot) lost a courageous battle to a recent illness. She was 83
years old. She is survived by her loving husband Charles R. (Bud) of 63 years.

Dot was born in Philadelphia and raised in West Oak Lane section of the city. She was the daughter of
the late John C. and Julia (Nee Martin) Heald. She was a graduate of Germantown High School. Dot was
a bookkeeper at a bank and held other retail positions throughout her life.

Her passion was singing in the Abington Choral Choir for many years. Her voice was so beautiful that
both her sons insisted she be the featured singer at each of their weddings. She also enjoyed her time
with the Crooked Billet Women’s Club and her Bible Study Group.

Dot is also survived by her sister, Marie Fulginiti, her daughter Susanne Travis (Charles deceased), sons
Charles (Chuck) Jr. and wife Donna and John (Jack) and wife Carol. She was preceded in death by her
son Robert (Bob). In addition, she will be missed by her 7 grandchildren: Chuckie, Kristi, Lindsey,
Shealene, Jimmy, Sean and Dylan and a great granddaughter, Scarlett. She is also survived by many
loving nephews and nieces.

Dot loved to travel with her husband and friends. They went on many cruises together, trips abroad,
and loved to explore bed and breakfast locations.

Dot’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday February 8th, 2020, at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Catholic Church, 1410 Almshouse Rd., Jamison, PA 18929. The family will receive friends from 9:30- until the time of Mass at the church. Interment will follow in Hatboro Cemetery.

Having you as our ‘Aunt Dot’ has been a privilege and such a happy part of our lives. Sooo many memories, sooo many shared family events --- all of them happy. Even though we know you are now with our Lord, selfishly, we miss you and always will. - Eddie & Tina

Dear Peniston family and friends,
I can't imagine a family event without her there. She always was there alongside Bud for every event and was the biggest fan for all her grandchildren's sporting or concert events. She also was one of my biggest fans - not sure why but certainly helped boost my confidence every time I saw her. She always had something nice to say to me about my hairstyle, my clothing, or something I created for my niece or nephews.
She did indeed have a wonderful singing voice, and I enjoyed it when she sang even happy birthday!
I also loved how she always had her purses match her outfits. It made me smile. She will be greatly missed.
Love to all of you at this time of grief. May memories of happy times bring you comfort.
