Obituary for Dorothy M. McGinley
Dorothy M. McGinley, of Fogelsville, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest surrounded by her loved ones. She was 88.
Dorothy was the loving wife of the late Emmanuel Joseph McGinley.
Born in Newport News, VA, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Amelia Jackson.
Dorothy enjoyed cooking for her friends & family, spending time at her house in Cape May NJ, visiting the casinos, and the Lobster House. She loved to travel, visiting all of Europe with her husband, and enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean. Dorothy greatly enjoyed the time she took her entire family to Disney World. Her greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with her family and friends.
Dorothy will be dearly missed by her children, Emmanuel Joseph McGinley, Jr. (Gina), Dave McGinley (Megan), Charlie Perkins (Colleen); Penny McKenney (Chad); 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Mariam April.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 22, 2023 at the Shelly Funeral Home, 5930 Easton Road, Plumsteadville, PA 18947. Her family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN.
