Obituary for Dorothy Gertrude Levy
Dorothy Gertrude Levy passed away on Wednesday April 29, 2020 at Neshaminy Manor, Warrington, PA. She was 91 years old.
Dorothy or Dottie as friends and family called her was the wife of the late Lewis G. Levy who passed away in 1991. In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Franzak, Francis Franzak; and her sister, Katherine Franzak.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA Dorothy was one of six to the late Joseph and Antoinette (Nee Haduch) Franzak. She moved to Quakertown, PA several years ago where she enjoyed the quietness of the suburbs.
Dottie is survived by two siblings: Norman Franzak and Josephine Domzalski, her two children: Diane (John, deceased) Murphy and Richard (Rita) Levy. Beloved grandmother to four grandchildren: Amanda (Joseph) White, John (Amanda) Murphy Jr., Richard Levy Jr. and Shana (Jason) Young, and four great-grandchildren: Aubrey A. Murphy, Connor J. White, Tanner J. Murphy and Joey Marie White.
Dottie was sweet, loving, fierce, and one of the most honest women you could ever meet. She was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Phillies even if they were losing and she never missed watching a game on TV. She loved to bake, sew, read the comics in the newspaper and religiously watched Channel 6 news every day. She loved to talk and could hold a phone conversation for at least two hours sometimes with a new story she wanted to tell. She was known for her homemade pierogies and always brought some with her when she came to stay with someone in the family. Her favorite thing of all was spending time with her family and was especially proud that she was a grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed playing jokes on everyone and loved to laugh at their reactions and she could take a good prank or joke herself. Laughter was always in the room when she was around and she will be greatly missed for being the life of the party.
Dorothy will be buried privately with her husband Lewis at Whitemarsh Memorial Park 1169 Limekiln Pike Ambler, PA 19002
