Obituary for Brian F. Galvin

Brian Galvin of Jamison, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Doylestown Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends after a brave and resilient battle with cancer. He was 57 years old.

He was the husband of Lisa (Serpico) Galvin, and together they shared 32 beautiful years of marriage.

Born in Camden, NJ., Brian was the son of the late Francis and Mary (Delaney) Galvin, who raised their son in a loving home with a foundation routed in the Catholic faith, which remained close to Brian’s heart for the remainder of his life.

In his youth, Brian attended and was a graduate of Bishop Eustace Preparatory High School in Pennsauken Township, NJ. He then went on to attend both Cabrini and LaSalle Universities, ultimately graduating from LaSalle University.

In their early years of marriage, Brian and his wife Lisa both enjoyed a close relationship with Brian’s mother, Mary, caring for her lovingly until her death from ALS.

For the last 25 years of his life, Brian was a beloved employee at Doylestown Country Club. He was one of their most popular bartenders and built a strong group of regulars who quickly became friends, sometimes coming to the bar just to have a chat with Brian about the latest sports updates or how they shot in their recent round of golf.

Among Brian’s favorite things were spending time in the sun, watching any and all sports, and enjoying an ice cold beer. He was an avid basketball player even into his adulthood, participating in local leagues and dominating with a legendary three-point shot. Brian enjoyed all these things the most when he was able to enjoy them with his family and friends.

To those who knew him, Brian will be most remembered for his loving spirit, his generous heart, his welcoming personality, and his vibrant love of life.

In addition to his wife, Lisa, Brian is survived by his twin daughters, Shannon Galvin (Eric Doyle) and Erin Sgro (Louis), and his son, Brendan Galvin. His three children were his greatest pride and joy.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 17th at the Shelly Funeral Home (Warrington) from 4-6 pm. Brian’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Cyril of Jerusalem Church on Tuesday, April 18th. Viewing will begin at 10 am with mass to follow promptly at 11:00am.
