Obituary for Anthony J. Mirabella Jr.
Anthony J. “Tony” Mirabella, Jr., of Hatboro, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 27th, 2021 at Greenleaf Nursing Home in Doylestown due to complications of COVID-19. He was 47 years old.
Tony was the son of Anthony J. and the late Earlene (née Williams) Mirabella. In addition to his father, Tony is survived by his loving sisters Gail Mirabella and Tina Forte (Michael).
After graduating from Upper Moreland High School, Tony went on to pursue his bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut.
He had been employed as a research scientist at GlaxoSmithKline for over a decade when, in 2008, he was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease (neuroferritinopathy) that left him unable to continue in his career.
Tony loved being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting & fishing and spending time with his beloved Corgis.
Those who knew Tony will always remember him for his great sense of humor, sly smile, and happy-go-lucky attitude as well as his love for the Philadelphia Eagles & Phillies.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Tony’s life at 11:00am on Friday June 18, 2021, at the Shelly Funeral Home 1460 Easton Road Warrington. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tony’s memory may be sent to the Neurodegeneration with Brain Iron Accumulation (NBIA) Disorders Association.
