Obituary for Adam Paterson

Adam Paterson passed away on Thursday January 27, 2022. Adam was 78 years old. He was the husband of Judith (Holbert) Paterson. Together he and Judy shared 60 years of marriage.

Adam was born in Philadelphia and was the son of the late Adam and Dorothy (Boughner) Paterson.

After living in Philadelphia for his childhood, he moved to Warrington, PA and was a 1962 graduate of Central Bucks High School. While married, raising a family and working full time, Adam attended Temple University night school and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science. Adam was employed for 30+ years with Sandmeyer Steel Company in Philadelphia as a Sales Representative at the time of his retirement.

In addition to his wife Judy, Adam is survived by his children Kim Tarasiewicz and John Paterson. He was the grandfather of Mathew and Dylan Tarasiewicz, Genevieve, Victoria, and Colette Paterson. Adam is also survived by his sister, Sheron Gibbs and her husband Travis. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Paterson and is still survived by Ronald’s wife Leona.

Adam was proud of his family and happy to share achievements of his children and grandchildren to all who would listen. He loved watching his grandchildren in all their activities and especially enjoyed spending time with them on vacations as they shared their smiles and laughter. Adam has many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss his quick wit and smile.

One of Adam’s greatest gifts was his ability to enjoy long standing friendships. He kept in touch with high school friends through golf and weekly dinners, sharing his sense of humor with the group. He vacationed each summer on Long Beach Island with friends from his youth Boy Scout troop for 40+ years. Adam was a member of Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church and enjoyed working on the mission team, rebuilding houses. After retirement, he spent a portion of his winters in Delray Beach, FL with his long time friends who he considered family. Adam enjoyed all sports, whether coaching, cheering from the stands or watching on tv.
He could share facts and statistics about most Philadelphia and local teams.
