Obituary for Leonard E. States

Leonard  E.  States
Leonard “Len” E. States of Pineville, PA. passed away peacefully Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Park Creek Assisted Living Community in North Wales, PA. He was 94. Born in Richmond VA, he was the son of the late Oscar and Martha (Becker) States. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Martha “Marty” (Brunner) and his dear friend and companion of over 40 years Eva Louise McCusker. He was also preceded in death by his sister Eleanor DiPietro and brother Cliff States.

Leonard was a graduate of Buckingham High School and he had served in the Army Air Force during WWII as an airplane mechanic, reaching the rank of Sargent.

Leonard was the owner-operator of States & White Excavating for over 50 years. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and caring for his beloved dogs. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the many people he worked with over the years.

He is survived by his children L. Jeffrey States (Eileen Regan), and Linda (Ray) Trimber. He is the Grandfather of Jamie (Dave) Hogan, Joanne States, and Jonathan Trimber. He is also survived by his great grandchildren Audrey, Danny, Victoria, and Matias and his sister Norma Crossland.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service 11:00 on Tuesday August 7, 2018 at Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road Warrington. Interment will follow in Thompson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of service at the Funeral Home
